Thanks.i'm on it and like it. it was, however, pretty tough going at first. the only thing tougher was when i tried effexor (grin). i was anxious and couldn't get control of it on the effexor. it wasn't so much anxious as irritable when i initially went on the wellbutrin, and i felt like it wasn't something i couldn't tough out, which is what i felt after giving the effexor a good 5 week try. i felt drugged on other meds that i tried, but i never have felt that with the wellbutrin.
i take it by itself, but i have taken it with ativan in the early stages when the irritability was tough. i don't take ativan now. i take sleeping aids from time to time.
what "worked quickly" at first was the feeling of increased energy and being effective doing tasks. that was marvelous! it wasn't until probably 3 months into it that i all of a sudden noticed a calming/anti-depressant effect. that's been great. i don't smoke anymore and drink less caffeine probably because the wellbutrin provides that extra ooomph i would get otherwise from smoking or caffeine. exercising helps handle too much energy from time to time it just builds up in me.
side effects included irritability, rage (the first 4-5 weeks mostly), constipation (easily remedied), and insomnia when taking the dose too late in the day.
i'm very happy with it.
