When I started effexor it made my heart beat rapidly. This is a common occurence with this medication and goes away with time. I'm wondering out loud if perhaps the medication has a stimulating effect on what ever is causing the stuttering. Effexor has helped me with anxiety. Discuss it with his psychiatrist, make a phone call before the next appointment if you feel it is necessary.
