Hi ~KAK,

sorry to hear that you are not feeling good during withdrawal.

it took me about 2 months to become fully physical symptoms free when withdrawing from paxil. the first 2 weeks were the toughest, but then I experienced the symptoms only occasionally. cognitive and emotional symptoms have to be worked on consciously. I have never expected them to go away on their own, so I use learned in therapy skills to deal with occasional flareups of anxiety and memory loss. I've been very successful. the last anxiety episode I experienced was two weeks ago and I recovered within hours. and now I only occasionally fail to recall a name or a word and I learned how to retrieve them consciously using recall tricks.

I also gained 40 pounds on paxil and it was relatively easy to knock the first 17 off, but then I got stuck and asked my doc for a weight-loss medication. I use Xenical which blocks fat absorbtion and the pounds fly off like a charm (I lose about 2-3 pounds a week on this medication, although 1-2 would be more typical).

hope this helps

and

wishing you a speedy and successful recovery.

mila
