> You asked for my feedback (I'm flattered, thank you!) about your possibly combining the 225 mg of Effexor XR, which works wonderfully with WellbutrinSR (150 mg).

> I have read other threads on this very board from people who ARE on this combo, so I would tend to think it IS indeed safe. Unfortunately, I can't tell you from direct experience because I've never taken Wellbutrin (pdoc is convinced it would make the already agitated and anxious me even more so) and I'm having a HORRIBLE time with EffexorXR (at a "mere" 75mg because the higher I went, the worse I felt).
>
> As for your anorgasmia, I get the impression (again, no direct experience, sorry) that combining EffexorXR, which is an SSRI that inhibits sexual "pleasure" with a NON-SSRI, such as Wellbutrin, which is quite strong in its own right COULD help you. If not Wellbutrin, there are other meds that would overpower EffexorXR in a way that would return your orgasms. Might as well ask your pdoc -he or she should know what would be most effective.
>
> By the way, I CAN relate to your having had a bad experience with CELEXA, and am sorry to hear it landed you in the ER - what did it "do" to you that caused you to have to go to the ER? I hope you're all better from that by now.
>
> All I got from Celexa was unpleasant side effects (bad headaches, foggy and heavy-headed, detached feeling, insomnia), more anxiety, and only a slight lift from depression. I had heard nothing but "rave reviews" of Celexa and went on it with such high hopes, and HATED it.
>
> I tapered off that and onto EffexorXR, but the latter is making me waaaaaay too activated (feeling caffeinated, jittery, the shakes and lightheaded) and these side effects are NOT NOT dissipating. Next visit to pdoc, I plan to get a taper-OFF schedule for the EffexorXR and go onto the next a-d (what a pain this trial-and-error process can be, huh?)
>
> Good luck. Let me know how you do!

Sorry it took me so long to write, I am in college and really busy (with 2 young children too) Anyway, I went to my pdoc yesterday and he started me on Wellbutrin 100mg Sr. I seem to be quite medicine sensitive, so we'll see what this does, and if I need a jump, I will go to 150mg Sr.As for the Celexa, YUKKY! My pdoc said I was probably experiencing serotonin syndrome. I was extremely anxious (I have never been that anxious in my life!) I had a temp of 101, I was having visual hallucinations; fortunately I knew that was I was seeing was not real. It was mild, plants dancing, walls breathing. It was scary. I was sick to my stomach and so on. I stopped taking it of course, and I feel back to normal. I hope the Wellbutrin agrees with me. My doc said it works mainly on dopamine and norepinephrine, and very little serotonin.
Lets hope it doesn't send me anywhere! It shouldn't. He did say to look for symptoms of increased anxiety (which Wellbutrin is known to do) and hypomania. There is a history of Bipolar in my family. I don't have it, but could develop hypomania with the Wellbutrin.
What do you think?????
