Thanks ;)

My pdoc says a lot of his patients have had trouble tolerating Geodon and he wants to get the dosing fine-tuned before he puts me on it. One of the things he's mentioned is that people have trouble sleeping, so your problem with that sounds familiar. Mood swings are another symptom he's been working on resolving for his bipolar patients. Until then, I'm stuck with Zyprexa. I hate being fat, but sleeping is no problem. I'm curious to know how else you think Geodon compares with Zyprexa.

Craig,
I really had trouble with Zyprexa. If I took it at bedtime, I was so hung over in the morning. I also would be in a really nasty mood. My temper would get shorter and I would snap at people. I think because I was so tired, I could not deal with anything that came my way.

I tried taking it about 7 pm. But then by 10 pm if I wasn't in bed, I was a very irritable zombie. I couldn't function. Small tasks like brushing my teeth and taking out the dog really pissed me off!

I just felt tired and short fused all the time on 2.5 mgs...Not hungry though. Never had that problem!

Geodon is just more gentle (?). I might feel a little tired, but not comatose. I think I like it. Though it is only day 2! Having to open the capsules in a real pain. I don't feel comfortable taking powder with me, if I am going out to eat, for example, but it has to be taken with food...Real pain...Also, I just am finding I need less sleep. And I like to sleep. That is what helps me get through the day. Sleeping for at least 10 hours! LOL

I do hope you get to try it. I think it is a good drug. Too bad about the sleep problems though...

Keep me posted!
Chloe
