Nutmeg contains Myristicin, also called Methoxysafrole; 4-Methoxy-6-(2-propenyl)-1,3-benzodioxole. Safrole may be carcinogenic, and is definitely a hepatotoxin in larger amounts. Nutmeg and MAOI's are contraindicated. If you did
a lot of netmeg you might want to test liver function.
