Drowsy + Lousy on low-dose of EFFEXOR XR

I'm ready to say Effexor sux! I titrated up from 37.5 to 150 admittedly quickly, but the higher the dose the worse I felt - TERRRRRRRRIBLE anxiety, obsessive, racing thoughts after being drowsy at first. Doc has me holding at 75 mg till next appointment. I thought EffexorXR is supposed to HELP anxiety, not increase it?
