After enjoying dairy my whole life, I became lactose intollerant (I think) about two or three years ago when I was completely unmedicated (although I had been taking ecstacy almost every weekend).

The symptoms completely subsided when I reached a theraputic dose of Serzone and I forgot about it until I switched to Celexa. At this point, I hadn't even recognized it as lactose intolerance. I thought I had picked up a parasite and the harsh drugs they kept me on for months had given me IBS.

Symptoms improved when I cut dairy out. Chinese food still reaks havoc on my digestive system. STill not sure what exactly happened, but it is manageable now.

My doc says seretonergic ADs should help IBS, but Celexa does nothing (indicating lactose intolerance, I would think)
