I have been on Seroquel for about a year now (I think - so many med changes, it gets confusing). I had been on zyprexia for about 7 months - it worked great, but it cost me about 10 extra pounds a month. My problem has been really bad distorted thinking. The seroquel helps, I think. But with the other meds - effexor xr and lithium (now in the process being switched to topamax), I really don't know. And when I am having a "spell" I still get messed up with distorted thinking. I am on 200 mg twice a day - I am certain that if I go up any higher, I get very sedated. I am realizing that I really don't know what this med is doing for me. I am just hypothesizing that it is helping with the distorted thinking.
So my question is simple. Why do you take seroquel? How long have you been on it? What side effects have you had with it? Pros/Cons? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
