stop start Seroxat (Paroxetine)

I've been taking seroxat for just over a year and have stopped taking it for the past 5-6 weeks. However, I feel that I would need to go back on taking it again now. What are the experiences about stopping and starting Seroxat? Is it true that if one stops and starts it again that one needs to continue taking it propably for the rest of their life?
