> I AM CURRENTLY TAKING VISTERIL 50MG, XANAX 2MG, HYDROXYZ 500MG, AND ALSO CELEXA 40MG. THE VISTERIL DOES NOT SEEM TO BE WORKING NEITHER DOES THE VISTERIL. I HAVE BEEN ON XANAX FOR 7 MONTHS. TO IS THE ONLY THING THAT SEEMS TO HELP ME FOR ANXIETY. I REALLY DON'T SEE WHY I AM ON THE CELEXA, I AM NOT DEPRESSE, I HAVE ANIETY, AN I'M ALWAYS VERY ANXIOUS, AND GET AGERVATED VERY EASILY, FOR NO REASON. I HATE TO HANG OUT WITH PEOPLE ALL THE TIME.MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE ALOT OF FRIENDS BUT I NEVER FEEL LIKE GOING OUT OR I JUST DON'T WANT TO. I HAVE A 7 MONTH OLD LITTLE BOY AND A 2 1/2 LITTLE GIRL. MY CHILDREN MAKE ME VERY HAPPY BUT SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE I'M GOING TO EXPLODE. ME AND MY HUSBAND HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE SEX ISSUE. I AM STARTING THERAPY TOMMARROW, AND I'M CURRENTLY WORKING ON THE SEX THING, WE HAVE A PERFECT MARRIAGE OTHER THAN THAT. EXCEPT I LIKE TO SLEEP AS MUCH AS I CAN WHEN I GET A CHANCE. DOES THIS SOUND NORMAL TO BE ON ALL THESE MEDICINES. ARE THESE SIDE EFFECTS?? CAN ANYONE HELP ME!!! I HAVE ALSO BEEN ON PAXIL, ZOLOF,AND ABOUT 3 OTHER MEDICINES. I HAVE SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS ALOT. WHAT SHOULD I DO???
Vistaril was no more beneficial than a benedryl for me. I have been taking Xanax for 14 years for anxiety and panic disorder and for the most part, the panic attacks are few and far apart. Some times, I go months without even the smallest panic attack. I will say that the Xanax is so addictive and is hard on the liver. I only think of what life was like before I started taking Xanax and I will deal with whatever it does to my body. Without it, I feel that I would have been put in a hospital forever. The anxiety and panic attacks took my life over completely. In my opinion, any doctor who tells you that vistaril is just as effective as a benzodiazepine is kidding him or herself and perhaps is trying to keep you from becoming addicted to a drug. You have to take your pick sometimes when mental health is an issue, do you want to live better now or just live the way you are now but longer. Figure that one out! Good Luck.
