Can your doctor write a letter to advocate for you? IMO, regular and XR are not the same, because effexor has withdrawal effects that are more pronounced with the shorter acting form, so some people start to feel these effects before their next dose. Also, for me, regular produced more side effects like sweating and memory problems.
