> Sue: I hope you don't mind if I respond to your question, too. First, I should say that I also take a low dose of Effexor (75mg) so take that into consideration. For what it's worth- when I took 300 mg. a day of Topomax I did have moderate sedation problems and severe cognitive problems. It seemed to contribute to my depression and my anxiety level was high. I dropped back to 200 mg. a day and the sedation and cognitive problems left, anxiety decreased. I asked for my Neurontin back-just a little-and adding that 100 mg. a day as I told you earlier did the trick with the remaining problems. Sometimes if I'm sliding back down in the hole I increase it to 200 a day and it seems to help get me through. I'm telling you all this to give you another option IF you do have problems with the Topomax. You could consider asking your doc if you could increase the Neurontin (more than I have)and back down on the Topomax. I hope you sail on the higher doses of the T, though. It's a good med; it's been a help to me. somebetter
Somebetter, thankyou....I'm keeping my fingers crossed that T will be beneficial for me at higher doses as well...I will be returning to school in the fall and am hopeful that with Topomax, I'll be able to go the distance. Thanks again for your suggestions.
