To everyone who is trying to withdraw from ZOLOFT....please do it gradually.....and it doesn't matter what dose you are on .......it still needs to be done gradually.
I was on 50 mgs for nearly two years, then down to 25mgs for six months....I believed that because my dose was so small that I could stop it COLD TURKEY ........NO WAY.........
I am experiencing HEAD SPINS and am constantly bursting into tears ! and my appetite is nearly zero......my neck aches....and I finally went to an emergency doctor who prescribed me XANAX !! I want to COME OFF medication...not begin a new set of problems.
I was being treated for POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS, which resulted in severe PANIC ATTACKS.....which has seemed to have once again reared it's ugly head .....but I am determined to stay off the A.D. The symptoms are awful but if I had known I would have come off it slowly....
It's now been five weeks and the head-spins are easing finally. I can only give you comfort in knowing that it will PASS.
Also please remember that EVERYONE is different. Some do experience side-effects....others don't. Some need higher doses than others....thank god we are all different !
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE.......I REALLY DO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH from the bottom of my heart. More power to us for acknowledging that we are going to changes in our lives, and have the courage to seek help and have the courage to change our direction in life...and not live in denial.....
