Hi Cateb,
I think you responded to one of my posts before about anxiety and depression. (Thanks) I was on 500 mgs of Serzone, dropped to 400 and recently added 10 mgs of Prozac which seems to be working wonderfully. I too have had problems with binges (eating mainly, but shopping sometimes, too) The small amount of Prozac seems to keep me more in control of my behavior (though I haven't been diagnosed OCD) and the Serzone, for me, has no side effects at all, though by itself it wasn't doing the trick. Hope this helps -
> Thanks, Rosalinda. Yes, I remembered a lot of negative Effexor stuff that had been since packed into the archives, but the recent stuff that I read through before posting seemed largely positive. I'll do that search. Not too many post about Serzone it seems, as compared with Effexor. Good luck on your withdrawal and on finding a better solution, too!

I DO NOT recommend Effexor: first of all, it shut down my orgasmic capacity just as badly as SSRIs had done, and second, it is highly addictive and is almost impossible to stop taking. Check out other threads re Effexor withdrawal; there's a lot of information that you won't get from the package insert. (I stopped taking Effexor 2 weeks ago because of the sexual side effects--even after tapering off the dosage over about 6 weeks the withdrawal has been so bad that I've been pretty much bedridden for the last two weeks.)
