long-term Effexor use

Posted by Bob on June 10, 2001, at 12:45:50

Are there many people out there who've stuck with either Effexor or Effexor XR for a significant duration of time - as in 1.5 to 2 years or more? I see many Effexor posts, some positive and some negative, but the majority seem to deal with weaning off of it. I too took Effexor about 5 years ago for 1.5 years, and then weaned off of it looking for something better. Nothing I've tried since then has ever brought me as close to feeling normal. The problem was, it started to bog down after about 6 months. I still think about trying it again sometimes, it's just that the withdrawl is such a pain. Again, what I'm looking for, is a feeling for whether there are people out there who have sustained a good response to Effexor for a long time (at least 1.5 years or more).
