I think jitters is the word. That's what I feal when people are around me: I am not anxious, I feel some jitters, very uneasy, but I have no problem to speak up, say anything in front of people (even new). I am not shy. This is no kind of social phobia. I just feel restless near people.
I was diagnosed as having Borderline - Schizoid Personality Disorders. The jitters probably come from the schizoid side of my personality.
Anti-social-phobia drugs never helped (MAOIs, SSRIs, Effexor). Xanax was better, Klonopin even better. I had more side effects then usual, though.
My best experience so far was on Dekapote (divalproex). I feel much better near people. This isn't perfect yet, but still better. My PDoc added reboxetine lately against my depression, so I feel much worse right now and the jitters are back.
Anyone with similar experince with Mood Stabilizers counteracting 'social jitters' (but not pure phobia!) ? I wonder if anything will do better than Dekapote.
