Yes. It's true. Mylan (a generic drug company) and alleged co-conspirators were charged with antitrust violations. I don't know whether the suit (brought by the government, I think) was settled or otherwise reached a conclusion. The class-action might be the result of a finding of guilt on the part of Mylan et al. in the antitrust suit.
The details, if I remember correctly (this was some time ago): Mylan et al. were allegedly conspiring to drive up the prices of certain prescription drugs. The way this worked (allegedly) was that the other companies granted Mylan exclusive rights to materials necessary for the synthesis of the drugs.
As a result, generic Ativan (lorazepam) became extremely expensive. The response of most people I knew who took or prescribed lorazepam was to switch to a different benzodiazepine (heaven knows we have plenty to choose from).
