> I quit Effexor approximately 3 years ago. I took it for only about 6 months. I quit because of the unreasonable side-effects I was experiencing. Within a 3 month period I put on 30 pounds (I never had weight issues EVER in my life prior to this). My memory is horrible as a result of the drug. Even after 3 years of being off it, my memory is still poor and I have been unable to lose the weight. I still experience strange "brain spikes" (these were incredible while I was going through the withdrawals). I have been permanently damaged from this drug. My quality of life has been lessened as a result. I am looking to participate in a class action law-suit.

> -ChristenChristen I find your information very informative and so glad to have read it before I made my decision to start on the Effexor. I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks and currently only take Xanax. The doctor wanted me to start the Effexor but have been reading all the side effects and now your posting has convinced me not to try it! Is there something else that you take? If so what and is for just depression or anxiety also??
Thanks!! :0)
