I take Effexor XR 225mg, 150mg in the morning and 75 mg in the early evening. This medication has been a miracle for me. I have only been on it for 6 months, but I have actually lost weight. 10 lbs to be exact. This med gives me energy, so I am much more active than I was before. I am being treated for depression and generalized anxiety disorder. (Before starting Effexor, I didn't do ANYTHING unless I absolutely had too.) I was on 150mg for a little while, but it made me tired at that dose, so the doctor put me up to 225mg, I was scared at first...but he told me to achieve the desired results, I should be on this does at least.
I hope this is some help for you!!
Good luck...
Debbie
> I've been taking Effexor for almost a year now 150 mgs. I've really been happy with the change it's brought to my emotional life. My weight however is driving me nuts! My doctor said that one side effect was the drugs tendency to make the body store fat. I've been excersizing daily and have always been a pretty healthy eater, so this is really frustrating. I'm now taking Effexor and Wellbuterol, to counteract the effects of the Effexor. I haven't noticed any change, positive or negative of the addition, it's been 2 weeks. Is anyone going through the same thing? What are you doing to deal with the weight?
