Gil - I have not heard of SJW causing vasodilation. Also, I doubt if there is any drug interaction between SJW and Zestril™ (lisinopril). While the SJW does inhibit an important cytochrome pathway, this does not affect Zestril as it is not metabolized and is excreted unchanged in the urine. Since the full pharmacokinetics of SJW has not been elucidated, I would still take this product with some caution, though.
As for the prolactin increase with Xanax™ (alprozolam), I really don't think that this is a common reaction; and even if it is, many instances of elevated prolactin are nonsymptomatic and transient. There is a current debate as to whether a mildly elevated prolactin levels is clinically significant over the long term. I guess if your breasts start oozing liquid, it would be advisable to stop the drug. The thing that you may want to watch with Xanax is, because it is a CNS depressant, it can cause hypotension in some people.
