Zoloft Weight Gain

Posted by BarbaraB on May 21, 2001, at 17:58:47

I strted taking Zoloft 50mg about 2 months ago when my doctor prescribed it for PMS. I had previously tried Paxil and Prozac over the last few years but always given up on them after a couple of months due to the vivid dreams and "numbing" feeling which I did not like at all. 6 weeks into taking Zoloft I started to gain weight about 6 lbs. I did not like the way it was making me feel, although I did not feel anxious I could hardly distinguish what had been a dream and what had been real in day to day life which was very wiered. I stopped taking it about 2 weeks ago but have continued to gain weight, so far about 15 lbs. I really don't think these medications are suiting me and I'd rather put up with the PMS than have these side effects. Does anyone know how long it takes to get out of your system, when the weight gain will stop and how easy it will be to lose this weight afterwards?
