In reply to Parnate success stories???, posted by katrina on May 20, 2001, at 15:36:45
I was able to tolerate it, but only by adding Urecholine for the anticholinergic effects (dry mouth), dextroamphetamine for the sedation, and propranolol for the tremors. It worked for my depression for about 2 weeks and then pooped out. I tried to restart it with Lithium, but that pooped out too.
But most people find it energizing, and it has a great track record among antidepressants, estimated at about 80% success rate. If you really need MAO but can't tolerate Parnate, you could always switch to moclobemide.
> It was suggested I try Parnate as an AD along with depakote...what's the scoop?
