I thought that since I only took FXR 17 days, that I could just stop it. My highest dose was 75mg. I have never felt so ill in my whole life. I missed several days of school. I was sick to my stomach, very nauseous. I think it is best to follow the warnings from the drug company that if you take it longer than 1 wk, be weaned off the drug rather than just stop. I thought I was fine because the symptoms weren't the most severe right away. It was more like the 4th or 5th day where I felt like I was dying. I could hardly eat or drink. However, it is possible I was ill from other things that may have made it worse. I could not sleep for a whole night as I had insomnia and when I finally went to sleep horrible dreams kept waking me back up. I was not only able to see in these dreams, but actually able to feel. I actually felt like someone climbed into my bed next to me (pretty scary when you live alone and thus don't normally have a sleeping partner, lol). I was really freaked out, but I think the worst thing has been being so nauseous and unable to find anything to help it and being unable to eat much for like 24 hrs. I reccomend checking out a website I came across. I can't validate its source of info, but it sounds like a decent source of info to me. It has a good comment about how to minimize withdrawal with a drug your doc can prescribe to minimize the nausea. I forget what its called, starts with an O, but the website is www.effexorfx.freeuk.com .
