It's a funny drug that goes in and out of popularity, but is primarily
used for women -- particularly those who are trying to avoid hysterectomies
due to fibroids. Aside from ablation [relatively recent] lupron is about the
only non-surgical game in the house.
I don't like what the article said but medicare has always been particularly
vulnerable to scams like this -- a decade or so ago it was some doc with a tongue
depressor who was charging for endoscopy and bronchoscopy. Argh.

Alas lots of people need the med and medicare compensates docs so badly and *strangely*
it almost invites scams.
