Eventually you _will_ develop a tolerance for Celexa, and the drowsiness will subside. I wish I could put a date on that though.
Weight gain can be remedied by augmentation with buproprion or topiramate, but only after your mood is stable. (Adding that stuff now would make one wonder what drug is doing what).
Celexa is a good drug. Here is my "take" on Celexa:
*It is the most selective drug for serotonin reuptake on the market, leaving other transport systems alone (less side-effects).
*It has fewer sexual side-effects than other SSRI's.
*It can be taken convieniently all at bedtime due to a more than 24 hour half-life.
*It requires no blood levels drawn.
*It has few significant clinical drug-drug interactions, so one can add a number of psychotropic agents to it if necessary.
*It has gained the respect of the mental health community in just a few years of FDA approval.
