I'd like to know too. Meridia was originally going to be marketed as an AD, but the AD market was saturated with me-too drugs. With the removal of fenfluramine and d-fenfluramine from the market, there was an opening in the "diet pill" market, and Meridia's makers took swift advantage of that.
I doubt it would be a very good diet pill, but its pharmacological and molecular similarities to Effexor suggest that it would be a fine AD.
