> Just found this board and it's great! I was dx with FM/MFC several years ago and recently have been in horrible pain. I also have IBS which causes a lot of abdominal pain. Recently I've had pain in my ribs which the doc says is probably chostochondritis related to the FM. A trip to the chiropractor seems to have set off the latest episode of pain--when he used the ultra sound on my lower back the pain all over increased and I was in worse shape than before. My doc is wanting me to try a low dose of Serzone again since all this pain is causing major anxiety and some moderate depression. I'm still not sure I actually have FM since my pain seems to stem from *knots* along my muscles which are extremely painful and tender--usually mostly when pressure was applied to them, but now they seem to hurt all the time, especially those along my ribs. Has anyone has similar symptoms--especially along with the abdominal pain, which was helped by Serzone or any of the other AD? I take Celebrex for pain, but it doesn't help much and my doc recently gave me samples of Ultram which offer some relief--but I've read some distrubing things about Ultram so I'm hesitant to take it too often. I've tried Elavil, Prozac and Celexa with no success. I tried Serzone in the past and it seemed to help, but it also seemed to make all my tender spots hurt more as I increased the dosage. Any ideas or suggestions would by most helpful >

You might want to check out the anticonvulsants. Neurontin has shown some utility in fibromyalgia, and would produce the least side effects. Tegretol is also used.
