> I have been on Celexa 100 mg/day but it wasnt a brake through (to much sedation and to less stability). Now my doc wants to put me on Zoloft. I tappered down the Celexa 10 mg each second day. Now i feel strange (dizziness, crying, nausea, weakness, anxious and more depressed). Perhaps its a withdrawl!?
Those are definitely symptoms of withdrawal--I've experienced them myself!
> How long it will last ?
If you don't do anything about it, it could last for months. (It did for me when I withdrew from 80 mg Celexa).
> Is it possible to reduce these symptoms
by switching quickly to Zoloft (because of the same SSRI mechanism)? Any experiences or ideas about this switch ?Yes, I'm pretty sure you will lessen the problem if you start Zoloft pretty fast. I have (long after the withdrawal I mentioned above) gone directly from Celexa to Zoloft by decreasing the Celexa while increasing the Zoloft. That way I only got very minor withdrawal problems.
> My doc reports that Zoloft gives you more drive than Celexa and could be better for my melancholic symptoms which hadnt been under stable control with celexa.
I have had much better results with Zoloft than Celexa. However, I recommend you to take a look at my other posting above (titled "Beating anti-depressant side-effects") on my experiences with the side-effects and how I have overcome them. Also, remember that these medications have different effects in different people.
Good luck to you!
