>In my experience, the only difference between the generic and the brand name is the cost. They may use different "fillers" but the only downside of that may be headaches if you are sensitive to fillers. It's the same medicine, you just don't have to pay all that money for the brand name company's advertising and research.
I've taken the brand name of benzos and the generic and I find that it's the attitude of the person taking it that makes the difference. if you believe the generic isn't as good, it won't be. It has been my experience that the generic is the same and so are they benefits.
I'm not "in the know" but I have had extensive experience with taking generic and brand and have found no difference whatsoever.
Maybe someone else could get more clinical for ya.
Good luckI take 1 mg generic Xanax [Greenstone Labs] and it didn't work that well the last couple of times I took it[at night for insomnia]. My brother swears the generic does not work as well as the actual name brand Xanax. I thought it might depend on the lab that makes it. Is my brother right? If I want to try Trazodone, I've read it's not "even" all the time, and my friend takes the brand name Deyserel. Anybody in the know have an opinion? Should I ask for the Xanax brand? With insurance, it's just $5 more for 3 month supply. Thanks.
