I was one of the few who got the rash. It only lasted less than two days at my titration to 75mg and was never really serious, so I continued and have definitely received benefit, with mood stabilization and in lifting my depressive symptoms.
Tegretol made me tired all the time.
Lamictal is worth trying if you have Bipolar disorder, especially with mixed states and/or rapid cycling.
