Has anyone tried quitting cold turkey?

Until about 8 days ago, I was on 130 mg of Effexor. I have been on this drug for about 18 months. I quit cold turkey, and the withdrawl is terrible, which I wrote about extensively in the "withdrawl" strain. Are there any serious physical consequences associated with quitting cold turkey? I am still experiencing withdrawl pretty severely.

I lost my job and my benifits were cut, to include my Psychiatrist, my counselor, and my script coverage. So, I'm getting off. Has anyone else done this before?
