Celexa and Serzone, adding Depakote ER

Posted by Susanl on April 13, 2001, at 9:30:25

Hi,

I've been taking Celexa (20 mg) and Serzone (300 mg) with good success since
last August. However, I was having a side effect of drowsiness and of
sleeping too much. Also, my Dr. suggested I might fell better with an increase
in dosage, but I didn't want to deal with the side effects.

So, in an effort to lessen the sleepiness, we dropped the serzone dose to
200 mg, and added Nuerontin (low dose - 300 mg- 100 mg am and 200 mg pm).
This didn't seem to have an effect, and I did notice anxiety symptons creeping
back.

Now, we've dropped the Nuerontin, and are have added Depakote ER (Also good for my migraines)
I'm not bi polar, just in treatment for depression and anxiety.

HAs anyone tried this combination, or hear of depakote used in non-bipolar cases?

I'm tempted to go back to the Serzone/Celexa combination and just put up with the sleepiness.

Thanks for any thoughts or insight!

Susan
