I have tried Protriptyline. I couldn't endure it for more than a week. Side effects to me were harsh. Stimulating, somewhat. I liked that part of it. But it made my ears ring real loud, made it very difficult to go to the bathroom, super dry mouth, etc. It had all the side effects you might expect from a tricyclic, except they were a lot more powerful side effects than I had counted on.

My pharmacist tells me there is one customer in town who has taken Vivactil for quite some time now with good results.
