Melatonin is available in most drug stores and all health food stores. It's a hormone naturally released in your body during deep REM sleep.

I take Geodon, 20mg. twice a day. I was taking it morning and bedtime but I was up all night bouncing around. This drug metabalizes pretty quickly and I'd get a "black hole" about five o'clock ( weird paranoid, not sleepy) and then rally after the bedtime dose and be up too late. My sleep cycles slide around much too easily anyway, so Dr. Shrink said to try morning and four o'clock. This works really well when I remember to do it. My MD says all his manic depressives are getting the same reaction. The drug is so new we have to figure out how to use it.missliz
PS My doc is not named Shrink. It's a generic alias, for those of you who've never heard this term.
