Cam: I strongly second your statement, but with a caveat. My docs (I see a pdoc for meds and a psychologist for cognitive therapy) were very good at combining honest information about side effects and positive support to help me get past them. They were particularly helpful during the period I was taking Xanax regularly, which terrified me ( I was afraid I would become addicted- you can check back, that was my first post on this Board). I sometimes get pissed at them (such as at their reluctance to give me an additional sleep augmentation a couple of weeks ago) but they've inevitably been right and I've done well when I listened to them. Cheerleaders, yes; but it was combining cheerleading with honest information which created a relationship of trust that got me through the rough patches. That and the support I've gotten from places like this Board.....
