Suprised to hear the connection, because I've been recently haveing alot of knee pain and wonder if this is starting to act up because of the Effexor XR. Other than that, my experiences with Effexor have made a new woman out of me. I have suffered from depression all my life basicly, and just didn't realize. My doctor put me on Effexor simply because it was on my perscription list from my insurance provider. I started at 75mg but didn't get any result.... he doubled the dose and now I can definately tell the diference. I take one pill about 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon.... settled on that time cause I'm most active and won't get tired soooo much.

Hi Jan,
I have been taking effexor xr for major depression these last 6mths I started off at 75mgs and increased it to 225mgs. I too was having knee pain (couldn't put any weight on it)
weight being the operative word! I havegained 24lbs over the last 6mths also. I also found this sight and started to put two & two together, all the things I and my Dr put down to aging(48yrs) were on this sight and other were experiencing them. I also found I was in a fog, no motivation & I could sleep 24hrs a day! I took myself off the effexor cold turkey(what a mistake)the withdrawal symptoms were terrible! After 3 days I put myself back on at 75mgs a lot of the withdrawals subsided and after 5 days I am now taking 37.5mgs. Even though I had 2 pages of side effects and withdrawal symptoms I still feel the effexor xr helped my depression! One thing I am finding hard to leave with is the lack of memory, I wrote a note to my daughter today and I spelt the word WELCOME..WELCOLM for the life of me this is frustrating simple memory and words don't come to me, I HOPE THIS PASSES!! SORRY FOR GOING ON SO.
Lilian.
