some points of interest...
tight fascia does not cause pain. Fascia tightening with age, is not an active contraction, but a loss of suppleness.
look at small kids, they can bend & twist into pretzel like positions. This flexibility is partly due to bone structure & part to fascia suppleness. This however, has nothing to with speed of healing.
many meds affect muscle tone, but in a minor way, in general ( some psycotropic meds in a moderate way ). several diseae states affect muscle tone... brain injury, brain tumors, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries of some types, strokes, etc.
