In reply to Celexa and Wellbutrin?, posted by Barb on March 2, 2001, at 22:14:51
Barb,
I take 300 mg Wellbutrin plus 30 mg Celexa. In my case the Celexa was added to the Wellbutrin rather than the other way round, lowering the WB dose from 400 to 300 with the addition of Celexa. I started the Celexa six weeks ago and just got up to the 30 mg dose yesterday, so the jury's still out on effectiveness, but I can tell you that it is a possible combination. According to my psychiatrist the combo of an SSRI + Wellbutrin is quite common, and very helpful for some.
I can't advise on the presence of Trazodone and Topomax in the mix, but maybe someone else can help (hopefully your doctor too!)
Good luck!

> What I'm wondering though is asking my Doctor about taking the Celexa down another 20mg or so and adding Wellbutrin in the morning. The Celexa has worked very well for me and I hate to give it up completely. I also am afraid to give up on the Trazadone and take the chance on not sleeping.
