Maybe I need the sustained realese or a higher dose?

hi. you said you had been taking wellbutrin for a week? you might want to try giving it another week or so--for some people it kicks in slower than for others, although of all the medications i've taken i've found it to be the fastest in taking effect. definetely try the sustained-release--i think it really helps cut down on the mood cycling, especially as your body adjusts. it also causes anxiety in many people and i agree with salarmy4me's comment that you may need to supplement wellbutrin with a longer-lasting benzodiazepene such as xanax or klonopin. most doctors are well aware of the anxiety symptom and so are not averse to co-prescribing these. good luck!
