Before being diagnosed with bipolar 2, I was taking Pamalor and gained 30 pounds. Weight gain is very typical. I was medicine resistant. Although I had been diagnosed with major depression only and not bipolar 2, Pamaler was the only AD that gave me any relief at all. So if Pamalor is working at all you may want to stay with it. After my doctor retired I went to another doctor that explained that anyone that is medicine resistant should be evoluated again, that maybe there is a different diagnosis. With Bipolar 2, I was put on Topamax and have lost all the weight. I tried exercise while taking pamaler, but the battle of the sweet cravings were to much. The bottom line is if it working go with it, society puts to much focus on body image. Just be happy. :)
