Been on Serzone for almost 6 weeks (1wk 100mg,1wk 200,
3wk 300, now in 6th week at 400) for anxiety and depression.
Had success with prozac and celexa, but couldn't tolerate
side effects. I am very hopeful in that I have almost
no side effects, other than I feel like a zombie for 24- 48hrs
after upping the dose each time, but that goes away. I
felt like I had partial response on 300, but my psychiatrist said
he wants me up to 500-600 range as quickly as I can go up.
He said that when serzone first came out the theraputic
range was 300-600, but now he says the 500-600 range is \
really when the antidepressant effects kick in. My question
is has anyone had real success at the 300-400 range? The
2001 Physicians Desk Reference still lists 300-600, has
anyone else been told the 500-600 is the real target range?
I haven't heard of this change except from my doc. Since
I hardly have any side effects, I don't really have a
problem with going up, but if I also don't want to blow
past 400mg too fast if there is a chance it will work.
