Yes, the Dexedrine Spansule takes effect about 45 min to 1 hour after taking it. My psychiatrist also prescribes the tablet form for me as it kicks in quicker, so it is better for mornings before work... Jane

Which I concur with... Not exactly the same question you asked...

I'm still trying to figure out how long it lasts for me... At this point, I think I might say +/- 5 hours... but it's hard for me to say, I'm still trying to get the dose right too (quant & timing)...

Sorry I don't have more to offer at this time - I've got more questions than answers at this point.

One other thing, my pdoc suggested a morning dose, and another at lunch time, to stretch it into the evening... I'm still trying to evaluate that one, but perhaps that'll help? The second dose seems to go a bit longer, I'm guessing that's due to coasting on the tail end of the first dose. Good Luck.
