Celexa and menstrual cycle

Posted by storm on January 30, 2001, at 19:04:03

hi, I've been taking celexa for a while now and it is helping. but my periods are irregular I have skipped a few, over the last 10 months or so. I have gotten opinions and all I have heard is that it messes with your hormones, it can cause alot of permanent problems after a while. I am told it is very dangerous to stay on this especially being as young as I am. the endometrial lining will build up and cause problems. I am hoping of for other opinions, I'm not sure that this is right. I also get very very down a few days before (when I eventually get it lol), I go from being stable to having a death wish again. it takes until my period is completely over or a little longer by the time I'm feeling ok again. (but like I said I don't get my period often, so I'm feeling pretty good most of the time with this drug). I was never this way before the celexa. thanks :)
