Hi Greg,
Things have gotten a lot better since I started Mirapex. I originally asked my doc for it because I had read here and elsewhere that it could help with anhedonia and apathy. After doing my research and showinf him that I was serious about trying it, he prescribed Mirapex at 1mg 3x/day. (titrated up to that level).
I have been taking Zyprexa for over 1 1/2 years so my body has pretty well adjusted to any of the sedating properties and weight gain.
I currently also take Wellbutrin (300mg) and Nortriptyline ( 100mg) but am considering dropping one or the other if the Mirapex keeps working well. I see my pdoc a week from today so I will discuss that with him.
I haven't found the Mirapex to be 'activating' to the point of causing any additional anxiety. Maybe the Zyprexa helps cancel out some of that? I feel more alert and more motivated to do the little things that I had been avoiding. I wouldn't necessarily call it extra energy but I am more alert and find that I tolerate situations which would normally cause me to "go into my shell."
Every couple of weeks I use this Depression questionaire to get a base for where I am.

My AD's have kept my score in the high 30's which is at best moderately depressed. I took the quiz yesterday and scored 25 which is a very significant decrease.
For more info try these:

They are some of the things I showed my pdoc from the web.
Good Luck and go ahead and ask more questions if you would like.
Chris
