In reply to Mirapex and nausea, PLEASE SOME HELP!, posted by natg on January 12, 2001, at 19:52:37

Starting Mirapex caused nausea but you said it sudsided with time. Could this latest bout of nausea be transient too & just related to the sudden dose increase?
> I've also decided to cut back on Risperdal to see whether I need it. It's hard to know which med is working.
> NatTry to maintain a constant. EITHER cut back on Risperdal OR increase Mirapex. That way you can isolate which drug is doing what. How about keeping Mirapex @ pre-nausea levels whilst slowly eliminating Risperdal (which you said pooped-out)?
If the anti-depressant effect is maintained then you could try slowly titrating the Mirapex upwards to see if any further benefit can be gained. I've seen a study in which depressed patients responded significantly more to 5mg/day than 1mg/day (though admittedly with a few more adverse reactions).
Again, just some thoughts; good luck,
Jah.
