Hi,
I took Paxil for panic and I must say it worked great. The only drawback was severe lethargy and sexual dysfunction. Looking back, I probably could have added another drug for these unwanted side- effects but my Doctor was a complete moron.
Anyway, other suggestions: Neurontin (I'm currently taking it, no side effects at all which is a nice surprise), Depakote (it made me too tired to function, a lot worse than Paxil), BuSpar (it has helped some people at high doses), Lorezepam (it helps me ), Serzone (my sister has found immense relief with this drug for panic attacks), Klonopin (no personal experience but I've heard it helps) and finally Imipramine (it helped me greatly, as well)I'm currently on a low dose of Risperdal and I also take Adrafanil. I will be adding Selegiline in the next week.
I take a low dose of Neurontin in the evening.
When I get severe panic attacks ( which doesn't happen too frequently anymore ) I take Lorezepam.I'm no expert, just passing on whatever experience I have.
Best of Luck,
Nat
