I think it is important to note we are talking about 2 medications
here, PPA or phenylpropanoloamine and pseudoephedrine or ephedrine.
PPA is being pulled volentarlary. No one has banned either PPA or ephedrine,
I suspect ephedrine may be pulled OTC as it is a precursor to amphetamine.
Personally I hate all the oral decongestants, they make my heart race and I climb the
wall on them. Much better is Afrin (generic is cheaper). It is a docogestant like PPA
but as a spray, applied directly to the problems areas (the nose) that lasts 12 hrs.
There is some systemic envolvment but muck less than taking something orally. Use no more than
5 days, lest you get rebound.james
