I have not taken this combo, but I have taken the BuSpar at the 30mg level....I quit within 1.5 weeks of starting BuSpar because of the horrible side effects.Warning....Major tangent about to proceed.....
Just last night I looked in my med drawer and noticed the 3 leftover 1week trial packets of BuSpar and said to myself, hmm... maybe I should try taking these before bed to help me to sleep, and maybe just maybe I will avoid the side effects while asleep and get the results BuSpar claims to give. I took 30mg at midnight, and couldn't pull myself out of bed till 11:45am this morning. I had a headache, a dull one like you get with a hangover, severe grogginess, and I feel like I can't get myself going.
I will try a 15mg tab tonight, as well as monitor my mood this afternoon. The *reason* I am even attempting this again is I noticed an increase in my mood the days after I quit the buspar. My mood was HORRIBLE when on the BuSpar. So, maybe if I take it at night and sleep through most of the side effects, and depeneding on the half life of BuSpar, it could elevate my mood during the day. This is a huge stretch but what the hell - I have 21 days before my appointment with a pdoc and I am in the crapper again with depression/anxiety. So, why not experiment and maybe find find something that kinda works in the mean time.
I'm giving buspar a fair shot by doing this, and if it doesn't work I will stick to my former belief that BuSpar is a waste of time and money. Here's another tangent, the 30mg pills are almost $6 a PILL here!!!! I thought prozac was bad at $2 a hit.
Does anyone know the half-life of Buspar?? I did notice an elevation of mood after it was out of my system, which makes me wonder about its possible use.......
