Alcohol is a depressant and could be part of the reason you are experiencing depression in the first place. I know people who have had very bad effects from drinking with antidepressants and do not recommend it. To be honest, you sound like you have a drinking problem that you need to address. There are tests to determine a drinking problem, too. Just trying to help. I used to have a drinking problem and am glad to have quit now. I never regretted quitting either. No offense intended and good luck to you.

> I have been recommended by my doctor to take Celexa after he diagnosed me with moderate depression. I have been looking at websites and reading your comments and am concerned about the diminished sexual drive and the effects of alchohol. I drink five nights a week with usually three beers and a burbon. Does anyone drink this much with Celexa? I am 30 years of age and very sexually active. Any feedback anyone could give me would be extremely appreciated.
